The Teachers

Mrs Mitchell

I joined Ash Green in March 2015. Prior to this, I have worked in four very different schools and in total I have 12 years teaching experience. In my previous school I was Maths and Key Stage Leader and during my teaching career I have worked in EYFS, KS1 and KS2. I have also held Science and PE leadership roles during my teaching career.

I began teaching after finishing University in Higher Education where I enjoyed three years in the agri-food marketing department at Harper Adams agricultural college. I then moved outside education, working for ten years as a brand manager for Co-operative retail services and for Molson Coors as Grolsch and then Coors Light Brand Manager. Fifteen years ago I successfully changed direction and completed a work based GRTP teaching programme which enabled me to teach in Primary Education. Having children who have been through Primary school recently, this has helped me to understand children of this age well. I am a very dedicated individual who is passionate about ensuring that all children can achieve in a rich and stimulating learning environment.

Miss Blake

I have always been extremely passionate about working with children. After finishing my English and History degree at Sheffield Hallam University in 2020, I embarked on my PGCE at Sheffield Hallam University in 2021 and I loved every moment! I am a newly-qualified teacher which means I started my role at Ash Green in November 2021. In such a short space of time, I have been involved in lots of fun activities and I have built great relationships with my pupils, staff and parents. Amongst the many things I have been involved with so far, my favourites have been our trip to Tatton Park and our up-coming Shakespeare performance. For me, the key to being a successful teacher is having the children at the heart of everything you do. My ultimate priority is making sure that every child gets an outstanding quality of education. Therefore, this philosophy remains at the forefront of all my teaching here at Ash Green.
