Miss Jodie Cope NPQH NPQEL - Head Teacher
It is an absolute privilege to lead Ash Green Primary Academy, a proud member of The Societas Trust. Since joining the Ash Green family in 2015 and becoming Headteacher in March 2020, I’ve been fortunate to work alongside a team of passionate educators, dedicated governors, and a wonderfully supportive community – all united by our shared commitment to “Achieving the best, together.”
In September 2025, I was honoured to be appointed as the Trust’s Strategic Improvement Lead. This role allows me to collaborate with other schools across the Trust one day a week, supporting innovation, sharing best practice, and helping shape the future of education beyond our own school gates.
At the heart of my leadership is a deep belief in equity, inclusion, and the transformative power of education. Every child deserves access to world-class opportunities, regardless of background, and I am driven by the conviction that schools should be places of joy, curiosity, and possibility. Our curriculum is carefully crafted to reflect our community, nurture a love of learning, and empower children to understand the world and their place within it.
I believe in excellence without perfectionism, and in creating a culture where staff and pupils alike feel safe to grow, reflect, and thrive. Our coaching-based approach to professional development ensures that every member of staff is supported to be the very best they can be, because when adults flourish, children do too.
Ash Green is a school where achievement and wellbeing go hand in hand. We celebrate individuality, foster resilience, and build strong relationships that last. I am proud to lead a school that places children at the centre of every decision, and I remain deeply committed to ensuring that every child leaves Ash Green feeling confident, cared for, and ready to take on the world.
Miss Alice Worthington NPQSL NPQH - Deputy Head Teacher
I am proud and privileged to serve the pupils and community of Ash Green Primary Academy as Deputy Head Teacher. In December 2025, I was awarded the National Professional Qualification for Headship—a milestone that reflects my commitment to leadership and school improvement. I feel incredibly thankful for the opportunity to grow with this school, progressing from class teacher to leader, and I truly believe in the power of compassion and strong relationships to help every individual excel.
Being part of the Ash Green family, within a trust dedicated to “great learning opportunities for all”, has shaped my expertise in leadership, whole-school assessment, strategic direction, and school improvement. My philosophy is simple: every child deserves a champion—someone who refuses to give up on them, who helps them discover their best self, and who lights the way forward. For me, children are the beating heart of education.
I believe educators are the decisive element in the classroom. Our approach sets the climate for learning and shapes a child’s lived experience. I strive to lead in a way that places every child at its centre, guided by respect and care. Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all. This philosophy aligns with our Ash Green values: Brave, Humble, Caring, Creative, Inquisitive, and Independent.
I am immensely proud to serve alongside such dedicated and inspiring stakeholders, all united by a shared commitment to placing our pupils at the very heart of everything we do.
Miss Charlotte Bishop NPQML - Senior Assistant Head Teacher
It is a real privilege to be Assistant Headteacher here at Ash Green Primary Academy and a part of the Societas Trust. The school, trust and community have a real family-feel and I thoroughly enjoy coming into school every day. I am passionate about school development and improvement and as part of my role, I will be supporting the Ash Green team in further developing and extending their teaching and learning skills.
I am now in my ninth year of teaching, after graduating from Sheffield Hallam in 2012 with a BA Hons in Early Years Education. I have worked in childcare settings since the age of 17 and previous to teaching at Ash Green, I have taught both Y1 and EYFS in two Stoke on Trent schools. Teaching Early Years is my passion, and I am so lucky to be able to say that I absolutely love everything about my job. During my teaching career, I have been fortunate enough to develop my skills as a leader, alongside supporting others with developing subject knowledge and their own teaching abilities.
I work hard to be the best teacher that I can and will always look to develop my own skills in order to provide the best knowledge, education and care for the children that I work with. I am a firm believer that the EYFS is such an important stage in any child’s educational journey and is fundamental to developing a positive attitude to school life. I believe that if we can support children by instilling a love of learning from a young age, children can reach their potential and achieve anything that they like! Teaching is an immensely rewarding career and I could not be more proud to be a part of the Ash Green Primary Academy family. My time at Ash Green has already been incredibly supportive and has developed my teaching and leadership skills immensely, I look forward to embracing my next challenge as Assistant Head Teacher and supporting all within EYFS & KS1 with achieving the best, together.
Miss Kirstie Bullock - Assistant Head Teacher
After eight fantastic years as classroom teacher at Ash Green Primary Academy, I am delighted and excited to have the opportunity to take on the role of Acting Assistant Head Teacher. Ash Green Primary, it’s children, parents and wider community are like my extended family, and I feel overjoyed in accepting the role to be part of the already well-established and successful senior leadership team. After being a middle leader since January 2022, I have already had an impact on the development of our school, particularly through my role as pupil premium and behaviour lead.
My desire to create a vibrant, dynamic, yet caring learning environment stems from striving to deliver outstanding practice and providing accessible learning opportunities for every child. I am a firm believer that each and every child should be nurtured, challenged and developed, no matter their ability or background. Our school vision and values are at the core of my own ethos, and I take pride in being fully aware and up to date regarding the current education landscape, including understanding the context and needs of our school.
I hope that during my time as Acting Assistant Head I am able to positively impact and help develop our school into an even better learning environment for our children, and I look forward to taking on the next academic year together as a team.
