Autumn 1 Clubs Brochure (2026-2027)

At Ash Green Primary Academy, our club programme is a valued and purposeful extension of our curriculum. It provides children with rich opportunities to grow, learn and thrive beyond the classroom. Through a broad range of enrichment activities, pupils develop confidence, creativity, resilience and positive relationships, while discovering new interests and strengthening existing talents. Our clubs contribute significantly to a vibrant, inclusive school culture where every child can participate and feel a strong sense of belonging. We are proud of the breadth of our offer and recognise the commitment of staff who plan and deliver these high‑quality experiences.

A Broad and Engaging Enrichment Offer

Across the Autumn term, pupils from EYFS to Year 6 accessed a diverse programme of academic, creative, sporting and wellbeing‑focused clubs. Activities included music, art and design, mathematics, writing, reading, computing, games, sport, performance and creative play. This ensured that children with a wide range of interests, strengths and needs were able to engage meaningfully with enrichment opportunities.

Strong Participation

Across each term, over 210 club places are taken up by pupils, demonstrating enthusiasm for extracurricular learning. Several clubs reached full capacity, highlighting the high value pupils place on these opportunities.

High‑Demand Clubs Reflect Pupil Voice

Clubs such as Young Voices, Number Ninjas, Puzzle and Play Squad, Tinsel & Twinkle Makers and Girls’ Football were full or oversubscribed. Young Voices, in particular, ran at full capacity across both half terms, with additional pupils requesting places. This demonstrates that the school is successfully responding to pupil voice and offering clubs that align with children’s interests, especially in music, performance and sport.

Academic and Wellbeing Benefits

A number of clubs directly supported academic progress, particularly in mathematics, literacy and oracy. Provision such as Times Tables, Number Ninjas, Writing Club and reading‑related clubs offered targeted opportunities for pupils to consolidate learning, build confidence and practise key skills in a supportive environment. Creative, physical and play‑based clubs further promoted wellbeing, collaboration, problem‑solving and resilience – key foundations for successful learning.

Intentional Curriculum Balance and Equity

Participation data has been used effectively to evaluate the balance and inclusivity of the offer. While some clubs naturally reflected gender‑based preferences (e.g., Girls’ Football), others demonstrated strong gender balance (e.g., Splat! Art & Design). This analysis is informing future planning to ensure that the enrichment programme continues to promote equity, representation and broad appeal across all groups.

A Reflective and Responsive Approach

The club programme is regularly reviewed and adapted based on attendance patterns, pupil voice and staff feedback. Under‑subscribed clubs have been identified for rebranding or enhanced promotion, while high‑demand clubs are being considered for expansion. Plans are in place to strengthen communication through newsletters, social media and pupil leadership groups, ensuring that the offer remains dynamic, relevant and sustainable.

Overall Impact

The enrichment programme has had a clear and positive impact on pupil engagement, inclusion, wellbeing and personal development. The data shows that pupils value the opportunities provided, families are supportive of the offer, and staff are committed to delivering high‑quality extracurricular experiences. Ash Green Primary Academy continues to use insight and reflection to enhance its club provision, ensuring that enrichment remains a strong and distinctive feature of school life.
