Miss Griffiths (5RG)
I have always enjoyed working with children. After my Natural Sciences degree at the University of Cambridge, I worked as a youth and children’s worker and then trained for my PGCE at Keele University. I have been at Ash Green since November 2014. I have taught Year 5 and 6. I love teaching Science and I am the Science leader and Computing leader at Ash Green. So far during my time at Ash Green, I have been involved in a variety of fun activities, such as reliving war-time air raids and evacuation, performing Shakespeare at the New Vic, holding Anglo-Saxon trials, doing an archaeological dig, going on a residential trip to Laches Wood and running a Dragons’ Den project. I am passionate about giving children great learning experiences; I think that is the best part of my job.
Miss Zimmer (5BH)
Prior to graduating from Birmingham City University with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education in December 2013, I worked in various office environments, both in Germany and the UK. Since I qualified from university, I worked on a supply basis in various schools across the West Midlands. This gave me experiences of working in a range of socio-economic areas as well as teaching EAL children. I taught Year 4 at Ash Green Primary School between September 2016 and July 2017. During this time, I was able to join the Year 6 on their residential to Laches Wood. I am currently teaching Year 5. It’s already proving an exciting year and I am looking forward to the many exciting activities we have planned for the remainder of the academic year.
