I have been involved with Ash Green School since my sons began their education journey, way back in 1993. Coming from a business and industry based background, I took a break to raise a family and pondered a change of career. Being passionate about education, I was able to offer and use my life skills becoming a parent helper in Reception, Year one and Year two before embarking on my four degree course, at Keele University. I was inspired by the committed teachers at Ash Green and was rewarded with gaining a joint B.A. Honours in English and Ancient History, along with my Concurrent Certificate in Education. Upon graduating, I was fortunate to have gained a post at the school and began my teaching career in Year three, in the autumn of 1998. I spent 8 years in that year group before moving to the Infant department spending a memorable 10 years in Year two! At no time have I questioned my choice of career but have seen it as a privileged and inspiring vocation and I am very proud to be part of this very special ‘family’.
Miss Moss (5DM)
I've been at Ash Green for quite a while - getting on for forty years, in fact! Prior to this, I worked as a supply teacher for twelve months and it was in this capacity that I came to Ash Green back in 1979. I soon became a permanent member of the Ash Green family and started teaching in Reception as that was where the need was at the time: I'm actually middle school trained. I have now worked in every year from Reception to Year 6 and have, over the years, taught well over a thousand of Trentham's children. It is a source of joy (and not a little pride) to me that I'm now teaching the children of many of my previous pupils. At present, I am one of the Year 5 teachers and also Key Stage 2 leader. For me, as for all of the staff at Ash Green, the children are the centre of everything and I am passionate about providing them with both the very best education they can have and the life skills they need to become happy and fulfilled citizens able to contribute to society.
