Mrs Tunnicliffe (2AT and Key Stage One Leader)
I want children to be inspired by learning, engaged in the learning process and to excel in all that they do.
I joined Ash Green in the Summer term of 2016, since then I have had the opportunity to work across both Year 1 and Year 2, whilst also working alongside many different fantastic members of the Ash Green Team! Prior to Ash Green, I have had experience of teaching in inner city schools as well as small rural settings.
My current role is Year 2 teacher and Key Stage One leader. Since starting at Ash Green I have had many opportunities to develop both professionally and personally and I wear many different hats! My passion for phonics has led me to lead this subject across the school and develop early reading from Early Years up to Key Stage 2. This role enables me to work with children across school and follow them on their reading journey.
I love being involved with the school community and I am a member of our school's PTFA. Our PTFA have organised fantastic events that have raised funds for our school playgrounds. If you don't follow us already, please drop us a 'like' on Facebook @ 'Ash Green PTFA'
Mrs Firkins (2KF)
I believe that all children have the ability to achieve their full potential if given the opportunity to do so. For this reason I am proud to say that I have been a member of Ash Green since October 2018. My teaching degree is in Early years and childhood education so I prefer to remain in key stage 1 or Early years for this reason.
Prior to Ash Green I have worked in schools for 12 years as a support role, through nurture, counselling and classroom support. I have worked in various classes from nursery to year 6. Throughout this time I have seen teachers work in many different ways to encourage children to achieve their full potentials.
I am currently the music lead for school and look forward to gaining further experience as a teacher whilst at Ash Green.
