Prospective Reception Parents 2021-2022

Ash Green Primary Academy would like to extend a very warm welcome to all our new families, thank you for taking the time to consider us for the start of your child’s school journey and we are so looking forward to welcoming you and your families into our school!

By now, you will have had confirmation that your child has been successful in gaining a place within our Reception at Ash Green. Over the next coming weeks, we would have invited parents into school for a tour of our EYFS department, as well as a chance to meet the teachers and talk about your child’s education in more detail. Due to the current situation, this unfortunately is not a possibility at this moment in time, but we fully appreciate that you will have questions to ask. We will do all that we can over this time to make your child’s transition into school as smooth as possible. This page will provide important documents that you might need to access as well as information, videos and photographs of our EYFS environment at Ash Green. We hope that you find the page useful, but please do not hesitate to contact Miss Bishop (Assistant Headteacher and EYFS Leader), we will be more than happy to help!

The Reception year is so very important and we pride ourselves on offer a caring, stimulating environment, which is specifically designed to meet the needs of four and five year olds.

Unfortunately, we are currently unable to offer our usual prospective parent visits to the school as Government guidance advises restricting visitors onto the school site. This allows us to keep our staff and children as safe as possible and limits the risk of introducing any new infections to our school community.  We are of course disappointed that we cannot meet you and show our amazing school to you in person but hope, that by looking at the videos and information below, you are able to get a flavour of our school. This video was filmed after a busy December school day this year, so please excuse some of the mess on the floor! Our classrooms are busy, child-led environments which we hope you appreciate as you watch!

EYFS Policy 2020

To ensure a smooth transition between home and school there are usually many opportunities for parents and children to visit the school to take part in a variety of activities prior to full time attendance. Whilst this year’s transition has needed to be carefully arranged due to the coronavirus pandemic and Government guidance, we sincerely hope that things are back to normal for our new children starting in September 2021. We will keep you updated along the way and share any new information through this page and our social media feeds. So, please keep an eye out!
